Question of the day: What's the point of the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard?
Jesus was teaching on the singular gift of salvation. Those that live their entire lives without regard to the teaching of Christ, but yet convert at the eleventh hour receive the same gift as those who spend 50 years ministering in a primitive location. He knew that this would cause controversy and taught on it to provide instruction.
