Today's question: Why did Abram give Lot his choice of land?
Abram realized that they could no longer coexist, so he suggested that they split up. Lot, seeing the green, fertile land by the river and the busy cities in the valley, chose the better grazing land. This choice left Abram with the dry desert land of Canaan. God sees the honorable thing that Abram has done and tells him that Abram would end up with all of it.
Abram showed his faith and spiritual maturity by allowing Lot to make the choice. Lot made his mistake by choosing the valley that contained Sodom and Gomorrah.
