Today's Reading - January 9, 2010

GENESIS 20:1-22:24
MATTHEW 7:15-29
PSALM 9:1-12
PROVERBS 2:16-22

Question of the day: Why did Sarah wait until her own son was born before she sent Hagar away?

She still doubted that she would have her own son. God had promised that Abraham would father a great nation, and until Isaac was born, Ishmael was viewed as the son through whom that promised would be kept. In fact, Ishmael is the father of the Arab people, and the Koran says that it was at Mecca that the angel saved Hagar and Ishmael from dying of thirst.

What questions do you have?
